Stoton Velo Club is a group of recreational and racing cyclists in Stoughton, Wisconsin. We sponsor weekly training rides on Wednesday and Thursday nights in Stoughton and welcome riders of all abilities.
We participate in the WISPORT race series, as well as USCF road and criterium races. In the Fall, many of us participate in the Wisconsin Cycling Association (WCA) cup cyclocross race series.
We ride and race to have fun, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Riding is a way to have fun, get some exercise, hang out with our friends and maybe enjoy a beverage or two.
If you want to find out more about us, drop Phil an email or give him a call at 608.877.1134.
Very nicely done, Don.
Hey Don! Very well put together! One of the nicest WP setups I’ve seen.
Hi Phil,
I live in Stoughton and enjoy bike riding on a casual basis. I go up to Madison once a week or so to ride around Lake Wingra or Monona. Would like to do some cycling more locally. Does your group ride regularly? What kind of distances? How can I get more invloved?

I am the owner of the Holiday Shores Motel, a small 33-room motel located on the West Bank of the main channel of the Mississippi River in the historic City of McGregor, Iowa in northeast Iowa. McGregor is a quaint, picturesque river city about 3 miles west of Prairie du Chien, WI in the heart of the Upper Mississippi River Valley Fish and Wildlife Refuge national park. We’re located in an area that offers great beauty and many recreational opportunities including Pike’s Peak Park approx 2 miles away. The area also offers tremendous cycling along the Great River Road and Mississippi River Trail and through many of the small historic cities along them. We’re within a 4 hr drive of Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and the Quad Cities and have hosted groups of cyclists from within this area.
As a biker, I am always amazed at the beauty of our location, as I am sure you would be upon seeing it. I know it’s difficult to look out at our Midwestern winter and think that the sun will shine and warm breezes will return again but I know that they will and am already daydreaming about my plans for the coming summer. The Holiday Shores Motel would make a great home base for a biking excursion and with that in mind; I would like to extend my personal invitation to a couple of people from your group to be my guests to check us out. I will provide a free room anytime before May 15, when our season begins. I will make an effort to accommodate requests after this date but with this being our busy season it will be more difficult.
We offer some great discounts to groups and I’m confident that you will find us to be an inexpensive and memorable getaway for anyone who loves the open road. Please visit our web site http://www.holidayshoresmotel.com and call us at 563-873-3449 to book your free stay. We look forward to seeing you.
Best Regards and Good Pedaling.
